Day 13: Book whose main character is most like you

Dude…challenge-maker…whoever…this is almost impossible to answer.
I am (as most worthwhile humans are) multifaceted, and as of now, my life is not reflected strongly in any character I can think of. I can think of characters that resemble my mental persona—you know…who I think I am in my head—but they might differ wildly from the opinions of people who know me.

There are lots of times when I’d like to fancy myself as a Jane Eyre…but deep down, I feel like I lack a certain self-reliance that she has.

Off the top of my head, I can think of about a half-dozen characters that are of a mould that I am significantly more ashamed to align myself with…but foremost of them is Quentin Compson.

If you know that character, then now you can be embarrassed for me, since that’s how I tend to see myself. (In spite of my monster, even.)
Except that I’m not going to kill myself. That’s where we differ most greatly.

(Words cannot express how dearly I wish I had NOT encountered those books in the state of mind I was in at the time…apparently it made me about a thousand times more impressionable than I usually am.)
